Debut at New National Theatre, Tokyo, Japan

November 29, 2020 Christopher makes his New National Theatre debut in Japan, conducting the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra in a Heinz Zednik production of Johann Strauss II “Die Fledermaus”.  Performances in Tokyo from Nov. 29 – Dec. 6, 2020 and in Sapporo through Dec. 15, 2020.

Upcoming debut at San Francisco Opera conducting Turandot

In the 2017–18 season, Christopher Franklin will make his conducting debut with the San Francisco Opera in Puccini’s Turandot. A co-production with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Turnadot will be directed by Garnett Bruce and include Swedish soprano Nine Stemme in the title role, Leah Crocetto as Liù, and Brian Jagde as Calaf. David Hockney’s creations for Turandot debuted in San Francisco in 1993, and will be restaged for the 2017 production. Performances of Turandot at the San Francisco Opera include 18, 25, 28 November, and 3, 6, 9 December 2017.

Debut with the London Philharmonic in Spain

As part of the International Music Festival of the Canary Islands, Christopher made his debut this month with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The programme included works by Mozart, Gounod, Verdi and Donizetti, and was performed in Las Palmas (January 8th) and Tenerife (January 11th).

Debut at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw

Christopher will make his debut in May in Amsterdam’s celebrated Concertgebouw, performing with “Dream Duo” tenor Juan Diego Flórez, soprano Pretty Yende and the Gelders Orkest. Debut at Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceo

In February 2016 Christopher will make his debut at Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceo with Rossini’s Otello. With Gregory Kunde in the title role, Christopher will lead Orquestra Simfònica i Cor del Gran Teatre del Liceu in two concertante performances. 3 February 2016, 20 u. 6 February 2016, 20 u.
